It's a mystery to me how Amazon expects to sell handbags to women when they don't provide crucial information, like the dimensions. I had to Google on the handbag's name and find the specifications on another website. Here they are: It's 10.75" high, 12" wide, 3.25" deep, with a 16.0" shoulder drop. Care instructions are included. I bought the black, and it is exactly as shown in the picture.
The handbag's largest section is in the middle, and it closes by magnet. This is one of only two things I wasn't particularly happy with; however, I note the connection is strong. The other negative thing for me was the brown striped lining, although it has a silky, expensive feel to it. I just would have preferred a solid, black lining. There is also a zippered interior compartment in this middle section for those small items like chapstick so that you don't have to rummage for them in the bottom of the purse. On the opposite side are two fabric pouches, one that holds my small calculator, and the other one will hold a cell phone (there is a velcro fastener to keep the phone secure).
Along both sides of the middle section, there are zippered compartments. Given the construction of the bag, these are long and deep but not particularly wide; they are useful for flat items like compacts, pens or checkbooks. There is a fourth zipper on the back of the purse where one can store papers, coupons, etc. for immediate access. There is a small pouch on the front, with a magnetic catch, which is really too small for much of anything bigger than a parking or movie ticket.
Even though this bag comes from China, it is exquisitely made and styled. The leather is soft and supple, and the brass toned hardware is substantial. I particularly like the five positions for adjusting the strap, which is pretty hard to find. Since I'm fairly short, this is a very nice feature to have in a shoulder bag.
While one could argue about the stated retail value of $150, the markdown to $52.50 is reasonable, although it's better than that. Currently Amazon is offering another 20 percent off that (at checkout), which put the price down to $42, including super saver shipping. Then, when I bought the purse there was also a magazine deal thrown in. You are allowed to refuse the subscription and claim a $12 refund, making the net cost of this purse $30; at this price, you cannot go wrong.
